Swedish Walpulgris Celebration day

April 30 a day before Labour day people in Sweden specially young adults go out and have some fun. Since I arrived here I still don't understand why they celebrate this day. The rain and quite cold weather did not stop the people. Burning fire and have their first short bad in the ocean as their part of celebration.

At home I have some friends come for a visit and we did our own celebration. I did prepared some foods with the help of my friend. I think my potential in cooking is getting better. Some food menu that I never did before and today I succeed!

We were spending our time with "karaoke" and we have a lot of fun. Dancing and singing with the melody we like. A little bit tired after and I tried to relax but since my husband wanted to went fishing so the day was not over. Rain and windy stop us and we decided not to go out so we're planning to prepare dinner instead.

After a couple of months being a Swedish citizen I never had time to process my Swedish passport. I was busy with work and some of my midwife visit. I have enough time last Thursday because I have 3 days off duty so I went to passport authorities and take my 1st European passport. For me its not a hurry since we are not planning to have long vacation outside Sweden.

I was totally surprised yesterday after I received text messages from the said authority that my passport is ready to pick up. It takes only 3 days wow!I was impressed how fast they are. What a systematic type of government! yes sometimes I could say that they don't have a perfect government (because no one does perfect in the whole world) but most of it work it out.

Chicken soap with rice and ginger

Wisdom tooth is the worse thing that I expirienced in my pregnancy. I was with my dentist this morning as scheduled. My upper left wisdom tooth was infected and it need to take away because it could be dangerous for the baby.

At home I was thinking what food should I eat. The dentist told me no drinks and food for 1 hour so I have time to think of.

I decided to have chicken soap but this time it's little different. In Swedish cook book it called "Heavy Chicken soap with rice and ginger". I was satisfied and I must say that my cooking today did success even though this it's my first time to tried the said menu. I add lemon grass even it's not included in the ingridients and it gives a delicious smell. I did enjoy my meal time.

The gift

Happiness is not only when you have bought something for yourself. You could also felt it if you share your blessings to someone without counting back in return. After many years of helping my family I prove to myself that blessings is always in my way. I am happy that I shared something that it could bring joy to them. I don't need to pretend about my feeling of success that's why I say thank you to my own self of having "a good heart".

Is it true that when you came from nothing and suddenly have grace in you is hard to forget the "yesterday". I tried as I could to keep my feet on the ground. I am not reach in terms of money but "I am reach"with love and sorrounded with good heart. When my family say "thank you"for the small things I did to them. I felt plattered and honored my "vulnirable"heart dancing for joy.

This year it's me and my husband who recieve blessing that we both wait for 4 years. God give His gift!my pregnancy!

Days goes by

The weather is not so warm but I try to walk on way to my work. At least 30 minutes a day as advised by my midwife. I am not so good of keeping the 30 minutes every day but at least I did it 3 times a week anyway. I am 14 weeks pregnant and as usual I felt better compared to my first month pregnancy.

I walked 1 day and night after I suffered etching in my both eyes. I forgot that spring season is also "my allergy"season. I washed with lukewarm water and thanks God it helps a little. Biking is also good exercise for pregnant but sad to say that I cannot. I saw lot of people women and young adults here riding their bike on way to work and yes I could feel little envy sometimes.

In my country riding bike on way to work is not so popular specially if your living in the City. Not unless if your a country girl,because the road is not so dangerous(not heavy traffic)as compared to the City. Unlike here that they have a lot of way just for bikers only.

the day after tomorrow

We have a wonderful weather here today and even yesterday. Sun is one way that makes people happy specially here in Sweden. Long winter and finally here comes spring season. I am lucky that I got pregnant nearby the season of spring. It's not easy to have layer to layer cloth and have big stomach.

Yesterday I visited a friend and we cooked "humba"since I longing it for a long time. I wear dress and a light pantyhose stocking and it's enough. Almost perfect weather and have spring sunshine the rest of the day. I even noticed that at hour 20.00 in the evening still remains light then comes the real darkness at hour 20. 30. We have a wonderful season all of us here are not just happy but even enjoyed the nice weather.

Besides my energy are getting back,I can do households work without feel sick. But of course I still take it easy and extra care for my health. I could even feel sometimes "kick"from my baby. Quite early but the doctor and my midwife told me that it happens to some pregnant to feel early. I am just happy day and day come.

A brand new day

Finally my morning and evening sickness are getting over. For the fast few weeks I've felt better and better and have less vometing. So far my pregnancy got long in 3 months now. I was with my midwife yesterday and did my "KUB" test Swedish medicine term for medicine examine for pregnant. A combined ultra sounds and Biochemical screening and method to determine if the fetus have sign for "Down syndrom".

The fact that I'm turning 38 years old this year,big one reason why I did the test. It took 30 minutes and God is wonderful. My baby is normal as shown in the test , everything is normal. Lying 30 minutes and watching in the ultra sounds screen was an unforgetable experienced that I cannot forget. When I saw my "little baby"inside me wave the right hand I cannot believed how wonderful it was. I am a "MOM" finally!the doctor keep on pressing in my stomach because she will see the movement of the baby. When she/he moved ohh my tears dropping it's a tears of joy.

I felt pain when the doctor pressing my stomach but the pain gone after everything I've saw. I am satisfied with my life now and forward to see this October(delivery month).

My Easter

Days was too fast where back again in our normal daily life. I was been busy since from Easter. Work work work as my life intended to be. I experienced another thing here how Swedish celebrate Easter holiday. Decoration and food is one way or another their ways of celebrating.

Way back in my Country as 90% are catholic some of the people celebrated more on fasting or offer to some suffering for the regrets of their sins.


I celebrate my Easter day in my work place. Prepared "Easter food" like egg and some "sill fish"(typical Swedish Easter food).

Bite of joy!

April...April my husband take off from his work. He join the premier fishing today according to Swedish law. I hope he catch some fish anyway so I have for tomorrows dinner. Maundy Thursday and people here started celebrating Easter holiday. I saw young people in the City this afternoon wearing "yellow color cloth" and some have chicken mascot.



I have fun watching them although I am alone. Department stores and other establishment have their Easter decoration. You could imagine and feel in the air that Easter is coming.



I am not so fascinated for Easter decor at home I have only my daffodil flower in the table. Being alone at home I cooked my "chicken soap" Filipino style. I was so lucky today because I find green papaya in Asian market and add it as ingredients. The taste was absolutely what I longing for. My dinner was finished time 1600,quite early but it's common time(dinner) for Swedish people . I even bought mango from "Thailand" and yes it's not cheap but I was surprised with the taste. It's not sour as I thought! I did ate all in spite that I am already full. I did a bite of joy!!!
