Swedish politic

We are lucky to have a little sun in this weekend! I am using summer dress again to try if it still ok. Windy inspite but quite warm sometimes. MOre warmer if we talk about politics here,because election day is soon happen in Sweden. By Sept 19 we need to choice who will be our next Minister,and other members of the parliament.

Their way of campaign is not bloody as I could compare to some country. But I am amaze  during political debatei n tv, talking right ahead straight to the point face to face. Politicians are brave, I don't know if they have what we called guilty conscience about things they promise that never  accomplished.  

Even though Sweden country is already established but still politicians here facing a tough time under their government. We have many people who become unemployed due to the world economic crisis,that some candidates focus the issue.

Green environment,tax issue(higher tax or lower tax) and even refugee problem are some examples of each politicians agenda. I don't like to have high tax again?since we already paid more than 30% tax per month. Of course I understand that tax is needed but paying more than 30% is quite enough. I am hoping that the government will  stop the unnecessary allowance,because some people make excuses so that they don't need to work.  

Swedish politicians thinking ahead for the future,yet they are not 100% succeed. I now understand no matter what politics is,still a wide wide range of year to be perfect. Change is not easy to define.

lost in the neighborhood

Is this an autumn storm?  Is the autumn here?questions of every body after the warm summer and suddenly confronted with rain,cold and the wind rose.

I've done 30 minutes walking to the centrum just to have time the last day sale. I'm not bother about the bad weather,because I need to have a walk anyway. On my way home I was thinking to passed in the other way (neighborhood) that I never been before. Although the area is quite near I live but sounds strange that I am a stranger in that area. After walking 30 minutes I wonder why I never been out . I was walking just the circle with in the housing area. I got lost in my own neighborhood,feel ashame of myself.

The wind blows hard that I almost lose control of my body. I am holding my 2 bags content some items that I had bought. I asked resque that thanks God my hubby come and pick me up. The weather seems getting better  still windy a little bit.

But not the entire Sweden experience this weather situation it depends where do you live in. Here in Gothenburg everybody start using  long pants,but in Skåne they can still used skirt and short pants until 1st week of October.

Sunday morning,it's been raining in the night straight 2 weeks now. Sometimes the sun shining but typically not today. Obviously I don't mind if  summer is ended life goes on anyway. I'm not against of changing season because too much warm makes people complained.Autumn season is one of my favorite season of the year. It offers a fantastic views and bring another meaning of life. Well, I saw lot of families still going swimming but I think for me the sea water this time is getting cold (17 degree).

Summer was just end that lefted the nice panorama in every garden.Soon is the season for harvest both apple and plum.

 The day I took a walked in the forest I saw a lot of wild apple trees. I know picking wild fruit is not illegal here.

I asked my hubby if he could follow me today. This is not the right season of picking apple but I am curious enough to compare the taste from the supermarket.

I took one and taste it(half green and little red) I doubt the taste at the start,sour but I think I like it. Eating sour fruits is not new for me  since I've been eating green mango in my country and it reminds me a little just the sourness. I am not hesitate to pick some of it then bring at home with me.

Afterwards I fix upon that time to go home,I am contented of our free harvest. On way home in the otherside of the road my hubby saw currant bushes bear a lot of fruits. We stop and pick not some but more than 2 kilos.

I  enjoy picking redcurrans with my pleasure thinking that both of the fruits are my favorite. This remind me how nice that we have summer. We could make a healthy candy out from the garden or from the forest. I freeze  half of it for my plan to make jam or pie out of it.

Mushroom

Picking of mushrooms become more and more popular not only in my home country but even here in Sweden. But they have a lot of kinds of mushrooms here than in Philippines. Different colors,shape could make us confused of which kind can be eaten or not.

Lot of them are poisonous mushroom, like in the picture besides this one looks similar of what I tasted in my country. My husband told me it's not edible fungi.

Just like in the 2nd picture(left) first we thought that it's"Laccaria amethystina"because of the color. Quite similar but we are not 100%sure so we never touch it and we leave it alone.

We have mushroom book guide at home but we forgot to bring it. Besides it's not easy to pick up the right kind,we both afraid.

We decided that we just pick up chanterelle instead for 100% sure safe.

Which do you prefer,potato,pasta or rice

Today's blog of mine is about the basic carbohydrates we eat everyday. We all know that most people who live in Asia eat more rice than the people from Western Europe. For instance in my country we have rice or corn as our basic food that serve everyday in the table. Here in the country I am now living, most potato or pasta.

I heard often that people discussed about what they prefer,potato or pasta and not rice in their meals. Rice with fish?they came and laughed about what kind of food combination. Sometimes people easily judge the situation without thinking the main reason why. This made me sad and tired of keep hearing it. They don't even know how poverty means to them because of course here they have a better lives compare to other country.

Even rice is a common food that we could buy  in supermarket here and my favorite(jasmine thai rice). Still you could hear their different comments. Some Swedish people started to accept and eat rice. I was thankful that "Thai"restaurant"made a great success here and their kind of cooking give a postive result about Asian food. I still wish that we have "Filipino restaurant"here as well but anyway I am satisfied that finally rice eater could not only we who came from Asia but Swedish people too.

My husband used to say a joke at me (everyday is a rice day). Well he loves rice too but not like to eat every meal. I do explain to every person I meet why we eat rice instead of potato or pasta. Rice is one of the main product in Asia not potato. Lot of people will not understand inspite that they know the fact.

I put myself as them then tried to remember all the food I ate when I first arrived here. I have the same comments as them for the first time I saw potato serve in the table and not rice. I am not used to Swedish food simple factual explanation. I arrive my own solution about this situation. Now I understand them because they are not me and I am not them.

Today was the last day of the biggest party in the whole City. People are everywhere that car's can't easily drive in some way inside the city. Concert was one of  the highlight that attracted for young adults. The last day celebrated with the festival dance presented by the different culture "Swedish immegrant". In Gustav Adolf Torg  have we called "cheese market day" from the different countries.

Swedish people are cheese lovers,where here you could find the different finest variety of cheese. Todays weather gave us inspiration to enjoy the all activities they offered. I heard the children who was screeming for ice cream,lovers dating in every corner. Free country ,not really strange.

In the other corner "tourist information"find busy helping Gothenburg tourist and maybe Swedish as well. Police were even in the sorroundings just incase something bad happen,while the shouting of young adults annoyed me.

Tired when arrived home but our day was full of experienced.

August fest

August is what we called month of  party here. Most of the couple arrange their marriage ceremony during this month  here in Sweden. I can't explain why maybe because of the weather or I do know. Well of course June month is still popular but as well as August.

Besides this month be the month of "Fermented baltic herring"(a presserve herring fish in can,a year later the tins are nearly spherical and the new "vintage"is broken open in August.When the tin are opened the strange smell is realised. Because of the strange smell the dish eaten outdoor with potato or thin bread).

this is even the season of lobster which both written in Swedish calendar. A busy month,lot of excitement everybody hope for a better weather and not only rain. Associate with the music festival like Way out west, Popaganda,Reading,Arvika,Lollapalooza and Uppsala Reggae are just the example.

Young adults charge their batteries this month. The party soon begin here...

today Sweden fly a flag!

 Today is the name day Silvia as the name of Queen in Sweden. Thats why most of the establishesment raise the flag as a symble of celebration.

The name Silvia come from latin words SILVA which means wood or forest. Around 800 women  in Sweden who celebrate their name day today together with the Queen. Thanks for her ( Queen Silvia) this name was listed in  the calendar today.

Inside the  country and even the rest of Scandinavian hanging a small flag at home is normal. During summer most of houses have Swedish flag.

best seafood restaurant in Gothenburg City

I am  like others who love seafoods!just mention the name (seafoods) hmmmm I'm getting hungry. Here in Gothenburg  there are lot of good restaurant you can find. Before writing this article in my blog this evening my husband and I atching tv one of our favorite program in "cable tv" Travel channel. An interesting part of me because they shows "Scandinavian food "in Denmark and Sweden.

Just to mentioned the tv crew visit  Gothenburg and been in  Restaurant Sjömagasinet known as one of the best seafoods restaurant in the city. The said restaurant only serve  delicious menu that make their customer come back again and again.

Want to visit Gothenburg city just google the name of  restaurant that I mentioned above. I am sure you may like to stay here.

Should we still called Swedish car?

It was a long journey of Volvo private car industry,after affected from economic crisis that turns thousands of factory worker become unemployed. Today finally everything was clear,the new hope for Volvo(PC) is come. FORD sold Volvo private cars to Geelys a Chinese company. The company is not so big and quite young compare to GM and others car industries.

I am happy for the workers sake and even Volvo private cars. But from the other side the aspect that from the beginning it's owned by Swedish company was gone. Maybe a sad thought and comments if I say so but "good cars"name goes to another country is hard to believe. How China made it through and they are almost in the top. Chinese businessman did their best and make China as a part of a new era.

Actually it doesnt matter who owned the factory,important matter is they keep the quality high. China and Sweden building a new life,and the bridge of good friendship for the two country lighted upp. Congratulation China for a great success!!

Well it's not the whole Volvo industry was sold.Swedish still owned the other Volvo industrie Volvo truck(transport cars).

Gothenburg weather

From rain,windy whole day yesterday and this morning finally at noon we are quite lucky. The weather become warmer that decides me to take swimming again. In the beach still windy,so I wait a few minute and feel the water first.

I am satisfied with our weather today inspite that not so warm. I think we have enough luck for the weather if I compare to Pakistan and Russia this time. A sad situation for the two countries that until today people have hard to recover.

At last I have a chance again today for another time. Take swimming without a hasle, lovers and families are all around eating dinner in the beach. We planned to have lasagne in dinner but the smells of the berbeque makes me hungry. I told my husband that time to go home and fix food for us.
