Alone at home the whole I entertain myself watching "Pinoy Big brother 2010 winner"Melissa. I wanted to laugh and tried to never mind the strange feeling of pregnant. I let my mouth busy chewing food thinking that maybe it helps to stop feeling nauseous.



My stomach is quite changing this time and specially my belly button. It's getting excited and March 1 is quite near.My first ultra sounds!

I'm sorry guys that again it takes few days and never updating my blog. I am happy to be pregnant but the morning and evening pregnancy sickness is strong enough and make me lazy. I do feel bad almost 1 week now and I even gain weight. An amazing year and lot of excitement days that a wait. But I will fight and will face it for the sake of my baby.

Yesterday I got 2 books which owned by my co worker one is in Swedish and the other book is in English. Books is all about "pregnancy " I felt honored and beloved in my department,and was thanksful to have some co worker who are thoughtful to me.

1 month pregnant!

Morning sickness,and different kinds of foods that I wanted to eat.Just name it!being pregnant change everything in your daily life.I like it but then no I don't like no more because the appetite changing minute to minute. Last week I love cooked "egg"so simple it's not hard to find in the grocery.

Today I phoned my husband to buy fresh fish but sad to say that no fishermen went on fishing. All of the fishing boat was get stuck in the sea. Hard hard hard but my husband fixed something that I maybe like "Thai food".

Climate change

It's not the best weather as last Saturday lot of workers came late to their work.Snow was make the whole Gothenburg City a real chaos. Train from Stockholm till Gothenburg had been delayed 19 hours. Families who spend their 1 week holiday from other town haven't reach home. I was working last Saturday but thanks to my husband kind-hearted enough and drove me to work.

I asked him if it's hard to control the wheel and he said "yes". The weather report never mentioned about that it's snow storm . This is a normal snow that usually happened in Northern Sweden. But it's not common here in Gothenburg.

Go out with proper winter cloth and shoes is necessary. Don't forget your winter scarf otherwise you got cold. People here were discussing that our weather today is like some result of our climate. We were worried about what will be next if our earth continue each damage. This problem started be serious and it could be more worst.

The climate meeting last December 2009 held at Denmark gave nothing good result. I hope our every leader takes their immediate action before it's too late.

being me..

Day after day we experienced here in Gothenburg such a cold weather. This is too much now and not normal as it should be every year. This time is totally a real winter that come. It's been snowing the whole day today and I took some video and try to download it tomorrow.

Schools here nation wide have the entire weekend brake,teachers are free from work for 1 week. Month of February has such a special for the school children. Holiday from school means a lot to them and have their time to play sports. Teachers were totally off duty. The whole weekend called as "sports holiday"for children. Sometimes I missed myself being in school(as teacher) but as I wrote before it is not easy to be a teacher here.

I was planning to continue my degree here and teaching kids. My educational background is not the problem but it's the children's world that I doubt about. Teachers in Philippines got more respect and been honored. Teacher here requires a lot of patience and not called as "Ma'am"or Sir. These words does not exist in school aside from calling each name. It doesn't matter if she or he is older than you. It's important to say the person's real name and that's it. I accept that "ma'am and sir" does not exist! for me the sense of honour is much more important.

If you came from another country and live abroad you may understand what I try to say. It's just hard to compare things sometimes.

The price of standard of living vary from country to country. It's nice living abroad but you need to accept that there are impossible for all the historic events.

Now I love my new job! but I have still the nature (as teacher) inside me and I always keep it. I am proud that once upon a time I was a teacher.

Swedish and English words

To learn a language is not so easy but of course a lot of fun. Imagine how God created everything including those different languages from every country. Everything lead us to be more curious and eager to learn things.

I would like to share to all of you guys some Swedish words that we're using every day. Some letters need to pronounced correctly but we try the right spelling first.

The power of prayer

Someone never believe in miracle because they thought that money could buy anything. This is a common situation for rich people in some rich country. People living their life without religion but yes they survive. They even forget to teach good values to their child that which bring the children much more often and have freedom to do anything.

This is not just a rumor but a true fact. I did not understand how people think without God. I have full of wonder and worried when I think about them but they were fine and have a good life. Every time I saw children running around and teasing each other I was afraid. Not because they're playing but their humanity values that they never learned.

What will happen to the next generation if we just forget to teach the good things and good values. Respect your parents as I learned since before from my homeland. But here everything is different. People talk here all about freedom,that even teacher in school have no right to punish their student. I am not just talking to teacher but even parents itself because for every pinch you did to your child it cost you action either to police or department of Social Welfare.

I am not against of the protection of every child of course we have a lot of bad parents. But I think to much protection could bring our child to the level of spoilt in the society.

Sufficient control and love is much better. But learning the child good values at home,have faith in God no matter where you belong for me it doesn't count. The power of prayer is strong to protect us.

Where out today to buy fresh fish,and some Asian vegetables. The weather here is still cold that remain in minus degree. This is really fresh air and free from mosquitoes and flies(as my husband joking at me). I forget my glove at home because I thought that we just make our grocery in hurry.

But the view of this place make me to stay for a minute. Packhusplatsen is a name of the place where we was standing and taking some photos. In the other side of(that you see in the picture) is the view from the Island called Hisingen. Hus in Swedish is house in English and the word platsen is place in English.

The picture above is the popular area of where all cargo loaded and reloaded. Boat that come from every otherside of the world.

The Stena Line terminal as could see in the photo. They're one of the wolds largest ferry companies for international ferry traffic. When your planning to take your vacation to Denmark bring your car with this line is easier. They have a good and spacious boat with their affordable price. I was with my friend one time to Frederikshavn and did ride one of Stena Lines Boat. My first time visit Denmark it takes 1:45 minutes.

Cebu made

Last evening after our dinner we have the usual time at home. Watching TV and then have a little snacks. My husband and I have the same interest and we enjoy our company together. During the past vacation in Philippines he had bought t-shirt from "bisaya special". But he never used it when we come back home here.


Yesterday he did remember this t-shirt I think this is cute. Try to look at and read the label for me it's interesting.

My phone was busy the whole day. I got text massages "congratulation"from my friends and relatives. Talking to them is a kind of therapy because I felt good enough. I was happy that I have them aside from my family. I received "bible" a nice gift from one of my best friend here. I realized that their are people who treasured and care for me.

I phoned the hospital today and been schedule for my first ultra sound this coming March 1. Since I was alone at home I did entertain myself to Internet. I've been watching "Pinoy Big brother" in YouTube and did laughed and enjoyed the whole day.

I will always remember that a happy mom:is a happy baby.

The gift!

Early in the morning hour 04:45 I took my pregnancy test. I'm quite nervous and excited so I asked my husband to help me. What a minute of silence while waiting for the result.

This is it!15 days after I got my fertilized egg. For the past few days I tried myself not be stressed but have a try to be calm. My co workers have been so nice and helpful to me much more that I more felt myself so special to them.

Suddenly my husband shown me the result and God it's positive! On that moment I felt glad!!!and things that I cannot explained. I don't know I would like to cry but no tears come out. I know that God make my wish come true. This is the most suitable time to be a parent. I am turning 38 years old this year,and have my permanent job here. IVF treatment really help,now the only thing should I need is relax and eat healthy foods for the sake of my baby.

Today is my big day so far that had happend in my life aside from being born.

After Then

All of us know that eating right food is good for the body.Our health is much important than anyone else. In tropical country we could find lot of vegetables that easy to grow in the backyard. Just water them regularly so that they will survive,and grow fast.



Eating vegetables daily is like "you keep the doctor away". Back in my country we used to eat 3 heavy meals everyday aside from the snack. Heavy meals with rice or maize cereals.



So seems that when time I moved here my family and friends are worried about me. Yah about the different kinds of food here. They're asking about that their's"no rice" the fact that potato and bread is much common food. Actually my first year at stay here is not such a big problem for me,their bread is different way back home. Bread are contains protein and fiber.





Potato instead of rice it still great and I love it.It sounds funny because as I grown up I experienced only that we used potato as mixed with meat.



During my first visit in my country I have a feeling to taste "food"that I used to ate. I check in the garden and saw eggplant. "Nomnom"I grill it and mixed with vinegar and soy sauce. Very simple but I like the taste.






I even saw okra in my brother's garden. This kind of plant could even bought in the grocery here but since the plants itself grown only in warm land. It's like quite an excitement for me when I saw them really fresh from the garden.



Not all member in the family like okra because of it's juicy contains. But this is one of my favorite and with it's high dietary fiber,vit.A,C,k and lot more. This is even good for pregnant women because it's rich with folate.








It's like a "bonus"for this lemongrass. Try to imagine cooking chicken soap then used lemongrass hmmm.The smell makes me more hungry.Ohhh native chicken soap!how I wish to taste it again.

Lemongrass is widely known in Thai and Vietnamese cooking. This grass is even rich in a substance called citral. A very good substance aid indigestion as well as relieve spasms,muscle cramps ,headache and specially good for rheumatism.






















Sugarcane is not a type of vegetables,but it's been a long time since I taste this one. Philippine is not the only country who produced "sugarcane".The largest country is Brasil and Indian.

Strict application of the rules!

I would like to share something I know about the Swedish law. After 4 years living the country little by little I learned and understand the different rules. Laws are needed to follow carefully for example building houses or even renovating your house.

Land owner cannot easily build a house somewhere what they wanted to be. First they need to asked permission from the municipal their living in if the area is safe. In Sweden people never experienced earthquake but we have winter storm and Autumn storm.

The wind was really strong that I saw it as strong"typhoon". Another thing you need for the building owner is approved by the bank and department of health. Reason I don't know! Lot of things as you could understand.

Every thing's takes a proper actions with strict application of the rules. I am convinced that all houses and apartment here are in good shape that last more than 100 years. Another things you could imagine and additional for the budget is the house taxes. All houses owner here paid taxes per month charge fee for water and sewage, charge for the road ordered by the town(you're living in). A quite more charges that it's not so cheap of living.

Everything cost money and you cannot used (under the table way). In case you would like to extend your house. Well!another permission again from the state and even permission to your neighbor. Neighbors approval is about the size that you wanted to rebuild. Things like that is such complicated. Just imagine if your neighbor is a tedious person.

Well! Swedish is a strong and stable country,they have my respect. The longer you lived here the more you understand.

Part of Gothenburg City

I am back again,sorry for not updating my blog for the past 3days. We have a bad weather for the past few weeks. Yesterday I was thinking to take some picture outside my working place but I don't have time enough.

I was working straight 4 evening shift and quite tired but I could manage. Today is the 10Th day after I have my fertilized "egg". I felt little tight in my groin maybe it's the side effect of my "progesterone"tablet.

Well, February month was here by the way. Swedish people are cannot wait for the next season spring. We are tired of winter cold!

Yesterday I received paper from Swedish immigration .Congratulation to me!I am now a "Swedish

citizen" of course I asked for double citizenship and was approved. It was enough to celebrate but I will wait this 10Th of February.

eating healty

It's been 6 days now after I've got back my fertilized "egg". I am fine and never experienced some bleeding which is a good sign. But my doctor remind me that it could happened some small blood spotting it's normal.

Now just about anaything could happen but I keep on praying day by day. It's nothing impossible with God's well.

I started checking all the food I intake,and eat more healthy food. I did take vitamin like folic acid as known B9. It's not clear that I am pregnant today but I prepare if incase.
